WHEN ARE YOUR DIVES?

When would you like them to be? Really! We cater our schedule to you. Are you a morning person? Do you prefer to sleep in? Do you dig night dives? No worries! We'll make it all happen.

HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE THERE PER GROUP?

Our dive boats are set up for 8 divers maximum. But, more often than not, there will be fewer divers on the boat and in the water. We're big advocates for seeing more fish than bubbles underwater.

WHERE DO YOU DIVE?

Wherever the other diver's aren't. Well, almost. We prefer to commune with the fish and not other divers. That means we like to look for the dive sites that are most pristine. Most of our dive sites are within a 20-minute boat ride (some are just a 2-minute ride away). But we also love to go farther afield on special dive safaris.

WHAT KIND OF DIVES CAN I EXPECT ON ROATAN?

Roatan is a diver's dream! Located on the world's second-largest barrier reef system, the island is home to an incredible variety of underwater adventures from wall diving to drift diving, wrecks to swim-throughs, coral formations to caves. There is something for everyone - if you would like more info on the kinds of dives to expect, please let us know.

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME OF YEAR TO VISIT ROATAN?

This really depends on what you are looking for. The quietest time here (least likely to see other people) would be during our wet season, October through December. January through April is our high season and also, not so coincidentally, pleasant temperatures and the easiest diving with great clarity. Summer is the hottest time, from July through September. The great thing about Roatan, underwater is fantastic! We always have great visibility (80ft+), plenty of marine life to see, and warm water temperatures.

WHAT ARE THE AVERAGE WATER TEMPERATURES?

Water temperatures hover around the low 80s year-round but can dip into the high 70s in January and February. Most people are diving in a shortie wetsuit or a long 3mm suit. We do offer suits for rent, including full suits for women (we know the "gender neutral" men's suit just doesn't cut it when it comes to keeping warm for the ladies).

SHOULD I BRING MY OWN GEAR?

By all means! We encourage divers who own their own gear to bring it along. It's much nicer to dive in equipment that is familiar. However, we do have a complete dive locker with well-maintained name brand rental equipment (Aqualung, Mares, Seaquest, Sherwood). So if you'd prefer not to deal with airline luggage hassles, we've got you covered.

CAN I SNORKEL OFF THE BOAT WHILE OTHERS DIVE?

Of course you can! There is great snorkeling in front of Tranquilseas and its just a short stroll on the beach from the resort. We also do Eco Tours where we can take to you to more remote parts of the island for some spectacular snorkeling. You can also join us on one of our dive boats excursions from $12 per person. Prices and availabilty will depend on the dive sites we visit. Some dive sites and dive times will be better than others for snorkelers but just ask us and we’ll always try to accommodate you. We recommend you contact us for more information on any of our snorkelling activities, equipment rental, prices and the tours we can offer or arrange.

DO YOU ACCEPT DIVE REFERRALS?

Yes, we do. Chat with us before you arrive, so we can make sure we get all the right paperwork from your referring instructor. For the price please refer to the Open Water Referrals on the Prices & Offers page
